Nancy Martinelli Colie, age 62, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Joseph C. Martinelli and Tressa (Simone) Martinelli. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven B. Colie in 2021; her sister, Barbara Hax; and her parents. Nancy is survived by her son, Sean Colie (partner Angelina); daughter, Kelly M. Colie; brothers, Joseph E. Martinelli (partner Lou) and John R. Martinelli; sister, Linda Kindelberger (Wes); brother-in-law, Roy C. Hax II; and niece, Nikki Kindelberger.
Nancy was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and Robert Morris College. She started her career at USAirways in Pittsburgh, where she became a supervisor in International Reservations. In 1999, Nancy moved to Cleveland to take a position with Progressive Insurance. She served in several capacities over the years, working her way up to Director, Claims Workforce Management. Nancy impacted the lives and careers of many through her dedication to helping others develop and thrive as both employees and people. Even in her personal life, Nancy had a gift for sharing her wisdom with the young people in her life. She was known by many as “Ms. Positivity” because of her unwavering optimism even in the face of adversity. Nancy will be dearly missed by all.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 27, 2025, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH 44077. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 28th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 521 Plum St, Fairport Harbor, OH 44077 - PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In keeping with her cheerful outlook on life, Nancy’s request was for everyone to please wear bright colors.
