Patricia (Norton) Kempton

Patricia Kempton, age 81, passed away at home in Concord Township on June 2, 2023. She was born in Cleveland on May 15, 1942, to James and Margaret Norton (McNulty), the youngest of seven children.

With her husband George, Pat ran the Porceline Company. She was a member of the parish of St. Mary’s, Painesville. Her greatest dedication was to her family – she was a kind and steadfast mother, daughter, and sister. An active member of the Cleveland chapter of Irish Northern Aid and a participant in protests against the racist name of the Cleveland baseball team, Pat knew there was no peace without justice. Her tenacity was colored by humor and grace, and she was a pleasure to know.

She is survived by her husband, George, and her children Michael (Lisa), Katie, Margaret Kempton, Sarah (Mike Nosan), and Nancy, grandchildren Felix and Charlotte, and her brother, Neil (Teresa) Norton. She was preceded in death by sisters Kathleen, Mary (Skip) Niklaus, Margaret (John) McCarthy, Eileen (James) Fleming, and brother James.
