Patrick J. ("Jim" or "Murph") Murphy

Patrick (Jim OR Murph) James Murphy, age 69, passed away July 6, 2024, at his residence in Mentor.    He was born June 9, 1955, in Painesville to Edward James and Arlene (McCoy) Murphy. 

Patrick served in the United States Navy.  He worked for the City of Painesville in the Parks and Cemetery Division, for over 25 years. 

He enjoyed helping people in need and would give you the shirt off his back and expect nothing in return.  He was interested in mechanics and was a “jack of all trades”.  Patrick loved fishing and taking trips to Florida to visit his friends. 

Patrick is survived by his soul mate, Janet Murphy, her children, Piper Said and Paul Walker; his brothers, Edward Murphy III, Edwin (Sandy) Murphy, Timothy (Robin) Murphy; sisters, Catherine (Jeremy) Minitier, Mary (Jim) Pahoulis, Laura Welch; cousin, Sherry Clifford; beloved aunts, Jonrae McCoy, Margaret Haught of Houston, TX and Mary Werner of Barberton, OH. as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene (McCoy) Murphy, farther, Edward James Murphy Jr., step-mother, Robertta (Richardson) Murphy, and his brother Michael (Betty) Murphy. 

Family and friends will be received, 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
