Philomena M. (Venditti) Cassell

Mass of Christian Burial for Philomena M. Cassell, age 81, of Painesville will be Monday December 12, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State St. Painesville.  Family and friends may call from 4-7 PM Sunday, December 11th, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Painesville.

Philomena was the daughter of Salvatore and Bessie (Mansueto) Venditti, born on November 21, 1941, in Painesville and passed away with family by her side, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire on November 29, 2022.

She had been employed by Petitti Growers as an office administrator at Agora Gardens in Madison. She was a Trustee in the Lake County Women’s Democratic Club and a co-chairman of the Federated Democratic Women of Ohio fall luncheon held in Lake County.

Philomena loved cooking spaghetti dinners for her grandkid’s birthdays and carrying out family traditions. Her love for family was immeasurable and will greatly be missed. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as baking, gardening, canning, and the company of family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Celeste (Michael) Guidosh, Lisa (Kurt) Lillie; grandchildren, Michael and Melissa Guidosh, Carissa Santilla (Devon Falkner) and ReAnn Santilla. Great-grandchildren, Cameron, De’Shawn, Zavian, Damarion, Zaria and Tre’Von; brothers, Joseph (Mary Ann) Venditti and Wiliam (Deanna) Venditti; sister, Mary (Venditti) Moczulski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Cassell; parents, and brothers, Louis Venditti and James Venditti.
