A Memorial Service for Richard Donivon Searles, age 82, a lifelong resident of Leroy will be held in sometime in May at Spear-Mulgueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue Painesville.

Richard was born November 15,1937 in Sunbury, OH to Elmer A. and Mary Elizabeth (Gooch) Searles.  He passed away at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland April 15,2020.

Richard was employed with Eaton Corporation for over 20 years, in the sales division.  Later in life he bought into and ran a successful MAC Tools distributorship for many years.  He was also a local Postal Carrier.

He enjoyed reading, fishing, bowling and watching the Cleveland Indians. In his early years played Baseball at Church and served as a Church camp counselor.  He fought bravely the battle of MS without complaining.

Richard is survived by his wife Carol (Patchin) Searles; daughter, Cami (William) Ellerbe of League City, TX;; grandchildren,  Carina Ellerbe and Cash T. Ellerbe, Rachel (Alex) Bartlesmeyer; great grandchild, Olivia Bartlesmeyer; brothers, Fred Searles of Akron, OH Edward (Sandy) Searles of Ashtabula, OH; sisters, Susan (Alvin) Sharp of Kissimmee, FL, Linnie  (Charles) Lausin of Thompson, OH and Emily Yoder of LeRoy Twp, OH and brother-in law, Montie (Carmella) Patchin of Mentor, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stephen Searles and grandson, Jonathan Crawford Ellerbe.
