Rick Rideout, age 65, of Perry passed peacefully on March 26 at home surrounded by his family and friends after a long and courageous battle with many health issues. He was born June 7, 1959, in Painesville to Robert E. Rideout Sr. and Rosa E. (Schuldheis) Rideout.
Rick was a butcher/meat cutter for years after his heart transplant. He gained a second chance at life 38 years ago when he received his heart, becoming the second longest living recipient.
You could find Rick in a tree-stand, on the golf course, or simply having a drink with his girls or friends. His desire and will to live life to the fullest and never let anything get him down was one of his most admirable and known qualities, along with his everlasting smile that would light up any room.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary Ann; his daughter, Ashley; his son, Tim; his dog, Raleigh; his grand dog, Nollie; and his brother, Bob (Cheryl); along with his amazing group of friends and support systems.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda.
Family will receive friends at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 2 pm - 5 pm and immediately following there will be a celebration of life at the Hungarian Culture Club in Fairport Harbor from 5:30pm - 10 pm. Rick really wanted this celebration of life and we strongly encourage and invite everyone to come celebrate with us and have a drink or share a story in the evening. Casual attire is preferred.
