Robert G. Bowen

Robert G. Bowen, age 88, passed away August 9, 2022, at Maltz Hospice House in Beachwood.    He was born March 25, 1934, in Cleveland to Marvin and Ruth (Peters) Bowen.

Bob’s first job began with Ohio Bell right out of high school, in which he made his career, ending with retirement with over 37 years with A T & T.

He was active in the Boy Scouts, Troop 69 and was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Wenceslas Parish.  He loved to go fishing, camping and enjoyed outdoor sports.

Robert is survived by his sons, Dennis Bowen, Michael (Donna) Bowen, Robert Bowen, John (Katherine) Bowen and Edward (Melissa) Bowen; daughters, Sharon (James) Sciaulino and Linda (Craig) Wieszalski; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes (Cotter) Bowen in 2005; brother, Marvin “Sonny” Bowen and his parents.

Friends will be received from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 15, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 Fifth Street, Fairport Harbor.  Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

Dad’s illness made life difficult for him.  Many thanks to Maltz Hospice House and staff for rescuing him and giving him comfort and dignity.  In lieu of flowers, it would be appreciated that donations in Robert’s memory be sent to Maltz Hospice House, 1 David Myers Parkway, Beachwood, OH 44122.
