Robert James “RJ” Keils, 39, passed away at home on January 29, 2026. He was born on December 27, 1986, and lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and compassion.
RJ was a devoted father to his beloved son, Kenneth James Keils, who was the center of his world and his greatest joy. The bond they shared was extraordinary—best friends who treasured every moment together and took every opportunity to spend time side by side.
Following in his father’s footsteps, RJ proudly worked as a barber as the “Ace of Fades” at One Cut Above Barbershop in Painesville. To his clients, he was far more than a barber—he was a trusted friend, a listener, and a source of laughter and comfort. RJ had a rare gift for making people smile and feel truly seen and heard. His warmth, humor, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and the community that adored him will miss him deeply.
RJ was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Keils, who passed on December 3, 2025. He is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Gayle “Trish” Keils, age 75, whom he adored. RJ spent much of his time caring for her as her health declined and cherished visiting her at her care facility, showing unwavering love and devotion.
He is also survived by his siblings, Francesco Occhipinti, Gabriella Santoro, and Nicole Ciszczon, and his beloved grandmother, Elaine Constance Foss, whom he deeply respected, admired, and loved.
RJ was a loyal friend, a compassionate soul, a loving son and brother, and an incredible father. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his laughter, kindness, and love will live on in the countless lives he touched.
