Robin Ann Dodge, age 69, passed away July 10, 2024. She was born March 23, 1955, in Ashtabula to beloved parents Edward and Frances (Thome) Kincaid. Robin moved to Leroy during elementary school and resided in the Painesville area for the majority of her adult life.
Robin was an employee at Auburn Career Center for 30 years. She began as a lunch lady and then worked her way up into the position of Culinary Arts teacher. Teaching was a passion as was evident in the effort she and her students put into attending various Culinary Competitions and completing the famed Restaurant Projects. Miss Robin, as many of her students called her, most enjoyed the workdays when the Auburn Room Restaurant was open. She loved showcasing her students’ abilities and treating their many patrons to a delicious meal at an affordable price!
While Robin also enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles and watching the Cleveland Guardians, her true love was family. Preceded in death by her parents and her loving fiancé Gary Garner, Robin leaves behind many who already miss her dearly including her daughter, Trisha (Solomon) Hilton; son, Russell (Natasha) Dodge; grandchildren Jaiden, Blakely, Elliana and Bryce; brothers, Thomas (Cindy) Kincaid, Joseph Kincaid, and Edward (Jean) Kincaid; nieces, nephews, ex-husband Mark Dodge; and treasured “fake family” members Heidi Nelson, Michael (Kyle) Nelson, Meighan (Dylan) Binnig, Lincoln and Emmy;
She will be remembered for her welcoming smile, amazing laugh, colorful language, and ability to gather people around a table. Food, games, more food, laughs, and just a little more food (probably followed by popcorn) were standard in Robin’s home. Those of you who had the opportunity to try her salad, deviled eggs, potato soup, prime rib or pumpkin rolls were most fortunate!
Friends will be received 2-4 PM Saturday July 20 at The Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Dress is casual. Robin would probably be happiest if you were dressed in Guardians gear. And while she did love flowers, she’d most likely encourage you instead to spend the money on a good box of wine to be shared amongst those you love! Say a toast to Robin and enjoy!
