Ronald E. Carpenter

Ronald E. Carpenter, age 89, passed away June 25, 2025, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.  He was born June 21, 1936, in Cleveland to Elton L. Carpenter and Alice (Barzi) Carpenter.

Ron served in the United States Navy submarine service.   He was a supervisor for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for many years.   He enjoyed fishing, playing gin rummy and back yard cookouts with family and friends.

Ron was a member of the Willoughby Elks Lodge and was a past Exalted Ruler.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Sandy (John) Weissfuss; sons, Ron (Lori) Carpenter Jr. and Steven Carpenter; step-daughter, Kimberly Kelly; step-son, Jerry (Marcella) Gillman; grandchildren, John, Michael, Alan, Kacey, Jessi, Julianna, Jason and Christine; cousin, Hermine “Dolly” Morrow; dear friends, Dan Tirabasso and Debbie Katila.  Ron was proud to be “Papa Ron” to his great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (White) Carpenter in 2013; sister, Charlene Carpenter; and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery.
