Russ G. Barker

Russ Barker, 58, of Painesville Twp, Ohio, passed away on May 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. 

Mr. Barker was the son of Basil and Gloria Barker. He was born on December 25, 1966, in Painesville, Ohio. 

After graduating from Madison High School, where he excelled in softball and shenanigans, Russ began honing his skills as a marble and stone tradesman. He later founded his own installation company. He was a very talented artisan and was referred to by many colleagues as one of the best in his field. Russ and his wife, Beth, created a wonderful life in Painesville Twp where they were active in the community and raised their two children. 

Surviving are his wife and best friend of 32 years, Beth (DeMastry) Barker; his loving children, Emily and A.J. Barker; his siblings, Travis and Lisa Barker, Dan and Ruth DeMastry, Amy and Jeff Loga, Michelle and Allen Rosu; nieces and nephews, Rachel and Ryan Barker, Nick, Leah, Logan and Cameron Walters; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Friends and Family will be received from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH. A funeral service will start immediately after calling hours at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at Philip Keck Cemetery, Barker Rd, New Tazewell, TN where Russ will be placed to rest with his parents.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical professionals at University Hospital, Grace Hospital LTAC and Andover Village Rehabilitation Center. His medical staff provided extraordinary care. With the help of many, Russ was treated with the highest level of respect and dignity in his final hours.
