Stella E. Walters, age 88, passed away peacefully December 29, 2020 at Danbury of Mentor. She was born November 6, 1932 in Painesville to William and Elizabeth (Dodge) Lohr. She was married to Harold “Hal” Walters for 64 years until his passing in 2017.
Stella worked for the License Bureau in Painesville and the Lake County Recorder’s Office. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing and cross stitch. Over the years, Stella won many blue ribbons for the projects that she entered in the Lake County Fair. But most of all, Stella loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Stella is survived by her children, Candace (Paul) Phipps, Susan (John) Sobolewski, Thomas (Lynette) Walters; grandsons, David (Tiffany) Phipps and Brian (Kris) Phipps; great grandchildren, Coleton, Hallie, Brenna, Amber and Lane; sisters, Gloria Simmons and Jane Burt; brother, Timothy Lohr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Hal” Walters; her parents; sister, Janet Harkins; brother, Roger Lohr.
Friends will be received Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 4-6 pm, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.
Funeral services and burial at Riverside Cemetery will be private.
