Stephen (Steve) G. Dixon, age 63, passed away July 17, 2023, at University Hospitals in Cleveland. He was born March 11, 1960, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania to Gerald and Jane (Maney) (Kasunic) Dixon.
Steve was a 1978 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School in Painesville, OH. Steve was a lifelong baker, spending many of those years working for Puritan Bakery and Giant Eagle. He had a passion for the outdoors and spending summer days on his boat cruising Lake Erie. He was an avid fisherman who would make yearly trips with his friends to Pulaski, New York to catch salmon. Steve was a gun enthusiast, and was a member of the Old Town Sportsmen’s Association where he enjoyed shooting with his father and youngest son. He was a supporter of local wildlife and nature conservation. He also had a love for hot rod cars and would often attend the local car show with his grandkids. Most of all, Steve loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who brought him the most joy.
Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wendy (Hess) Dixon; sons, Michael (Danielle) Dixon and Jeffrey (Emily) Dixon; grandchildren, Trevor, Nolan, Willow, and Hunter Dixon; mother, Jane (Maney) Kasunic, and sisters, Debbie Ball, Edna (Richard) Goodmanson, Jenny (Jimmy) Barker and Patty Hurst, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Gerald Dixon, his nephew Steven Petrovic and brother-in-law, Paul Hurst.
Steve lost a hard fought battle against stomach cancer. His family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at UH Seidman Cancer Center.

His friends and family are invited to share happy memories, and celebrate Steve’s life from 5:00 – 6:00 PM on Monday July 24th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held immediately following calling hours at 6:00pm.
