Steven Burke Colie, age 67, passed away suddenly on August 16, 2021. He was born February 27, 1954, in Takoma Park, Maryland to Edwin Burke and Mary Jane (Cooley) Colie.
Steve had a passion for service to others. This led him to attend the police academy and serve as a Deputy Sheriff and a Corrections Officer in both Virginia and Maryland. He also acquired his HVACR certification and started his own small business. Steve had a big heart for animals, and he became a foster for Boston Terriers. In addition, Steve enjoyed NASCAR, muscle cars, and was a Washington Football Team fan. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fairport.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Nancy (Martinelli) Colie. Also surviving are his daughter, Kelly Michelle Colie; son, Sean Burke Colie; sisters, Barbara (Richard) Toms and Linda (Dave) Stultz; and brother-in-law, Richard Ward; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Sherry Ward; and his brother, Gary Colie.
A Memorial Mass for Steve will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 Fifth Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio.
