Thomas Joseph Winfield

Thomas Joseph Winfield, age 76, passed away October 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of Jack and Mary (Square) Winfield, born on January 24, 1945, in Painesville, OH. Tom is survived by his son, Steven (Laura) Winfield of Fairport Harbor; daughter, Karen (Kevin) Suttman of Leroy Township; grandchildren, Christopher Winfield, Andrew Suttman, Macy Suttman.  He was preceded in death by his wife Marcia, in 2021, his parents and his brother, John Winfield

Tom was the owner/operator of Hillcrafter’s, Winfield Marina, California Imports and Madhatter’s Comedy Club. He has left a legacy of amazing feats of engineering along the Lake Erie shoreline. Tom had a true passion for life. He was the embodiment of love.  He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He showed all he knew what unconditional love really was. Tom could be found whistling while he worked on his numerous tractors, backhoes and cranes. He was a true water baby, scuba diving, fishing, swimming and boating, a master floater. It seemed nothing could stop him from smiling, hence his nick name “Smiling Tom”. Tom’s true love was his wife of 56 years who passed on their anniversary, August 26th 2021.  His smile, twinkling eyes, laughter and whistle will always be fondly remembered.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Friday October 22, 2021, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Family and friends received from 4:00 PM until time of service.
