Timothy W. Jewell, age 76, passed away Thursday May 4, 2023, at Advent Hospital in Apopka, FL, surrounded by his family.
Born December 24, 1946, in Painesville OH, he was the son of Floyd and Beverly Jewell, and grew up in Thompson, OH. After high school he was a Ford mechanic and joined the army. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. Sgt. Jewell was track commander 101st Airbourne Da Nang, and was a demolition expert. He earned 2 Purple Hearts and Army Commendation Medal of Valor in Combat.
He worked as a carpenter and superintendent, earning his way to business agent of the Carpenters Union. He always gave his all and went above and beyond in everything he did. He also took part in many charity projects, and was a 32 Free Mason, Eastern Star and member of the VFW. After retiring in 2006, he enjoyed traveling, cruising in his 1966 Ford Fairlane, and was an avid golfer. Tim and Dorothy spent time between their Florida and Ohio homes. He made friends and “framily” wherever he went.
He is survived by the love of his life, Dorie, of 53 years. His daughter, Sally (Steve) Lovick. Grandson, Steve (Jordyn Radovanic)) Lovick Jr. Brother, Ted (Diane) Jewell. Brothers-in-law, Ernie (Beth) Fritinger of Florida and Tom Fritinger of Utah. Sister-in-law Susie (Walt) LaFavour of Texas, many nieces, nephews, and many life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Beverly, his sister, Barbara Gomolski, and his grandparents.
Tim was a true “dad” and brother, and mentor to everyone and touched many lives.
Calling hours will be held Monday May 15, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 PM., 667 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH. The Funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM the following day, May 16th at the funeral home. Graveside services will immediately follow at Concord Cemetery, 7229 Ravenna Rd, Concord, OH.
