Vida Mae Prekler

Vida Mae Prekler, age 85, passed away April 3, 2025, in Concord Township OH.  She was born May 26, 1939, in Cleveland OH to Andrew Zamec and Vida Mae (Peterlin)

Vida was an Executive Director for the American Cancer Society and worked for Lang Distributors for many years.

She enjoyed casinos with friends. Vida was also a Nascar Car Racing Fan.

Vida is survived by her husband, James Prekler; children, Richard (Becky) Shenker, Lynn Thomas (Paul), and Thomas (Melody) Shenker; grandchildren, Shawn Shenker, Aaron Shenker, John Samuel (Anne Jackson) Shenker, Garrison Shenker, Jared and Aaron Thomas, and Morriah Harp; Great grandchildren, Sean, Hailey, Payton, Ramee, Reed and Rowe.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Curt Zamec; grandson, Benjamin Thomas and her parents.

Family and friends will be received 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Vida to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P. O. Box 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44192.
