William John Bayer, age 91, passed away on May 13, 2022, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. He was born August 22, 1930, in Falls Creek, Pennsylvania to William John Bayer Sr. and Florence (Bilger) Bayer.
William proudly served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War. After the war, he was a chemist and lab technician for the Eltech Corporation for 30+ years until retirement. Some of his passions in life were watching movies, spending time with animals and listening to and reading bible verses. Most importantly, he enjoyed time with his family and going to and watching his grandchildren’s events.
William is survived by his son, Bradley Bayer; sister, Mona Jane (Bayer) Stropkey; son-in-law Milton Johnson; grandchildren, Kerry Willman (Brandon), Kevin Johnson (Kate), and Kelsey Daubert (Bill); great grandchildren, Julia, Jackson, Joel, Laurel, Charlotte, Kennedy, Kiera, Kade, Lillian and Rowan.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 59 years, Julia Ann (Toreki) Bayer in 2014; devoted daughter, Theresa (Bayer) Johnson in 2021; daughter-in-law, Lori (DiCarlo) Bayer in 2010; sisters, Florence Evelyn Bayer and Ruth Elizabeth (Bayer) Sereno; and his parents.
Private graveside services for William were held at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
