Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Homes strive for excellence in every aspect of funeral service. Each member of our staff is committed to the belief that we are here to assist in the grieving process by offering quality service in a timely, compassionate and cost-effective manner. While families are different, each and every family member deserves the commitment of respect from the staff of Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Homes.
Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Homes have been vital, caregiving members of the Lake County community for 100 years. The Mulqueeny Brothers Funeral Home was founded in 1922 by William Mulqueeny, and the Spear Funeral Home was founded in 1932 by John L. Spear. In 1975, the two firms merged to offer two convenient locations to better serve Fairport Harbor and Painesville, Ohio families. It is our commitment to provide the finest service. Our driving force has been, and always will be, to provide dignified, caring and quality service.
In 1999, Jay Mulqueeny and Brian Waite purchased the business from Ed Johnson and John Schafer, making many improvements since they took over the operations. The funeral home has been completely remodeled. We also added a more consumer friendly selection of caskets, and cremation urns, as well as a better selection of stationery items. “We believe and strive to provide a new and alternative service to meet the special needs of the families we serve.”
